In July 2015 the Directors and Management of Canvey Island FC and C&K Basildon Ladies FC announced that an agreement had been reached for the FA Women’s Premier League Southern National women's side to play their home games for the 2015/16 season at The Frost Financial Stadium.
C&K Basildon Ladies Managing Director, Peter King, said: "Due to FA ground grading regulations that apply at the level we have now reached, we now have to have a stadium with floodlights and improved facilities.
"After very positive discussions with the Directors and Management at Canvey Island FC they have kindly agreed to make available their Frost Financial Stadium home. It is an excellent facility with one of the best playing surfaces in the area. Canvey Island FC have made us feel very welcome."
Having led the discussions, C&K Basildon Ladies Chairman Chris Singh said: "Both Canvey and C&K are professionally operated football entities, so there was a synergy from the start. They have also asked for our support and advice in the establishment of a girls academy at Canvey and we have pledged our support in whatever way they need it."
Canvey Island FC’s Director Of Developments Rod Hall said: "This is an exciting partnership for the club which again demonstrates our passion and drive to work within the community by forging partnerships with other local organisations.
"There is a lot of excitement around women’s football after the recent success of the England team, so please come along and support the team!
"I would like to thank both Chris and Peter for choosing Canvey Island FC as their new home and we wish C&K Ladies Basildon all the best for the 2015/2016 season."
C&K Basildon Ladies are managed by Gulls legend Steve Tilson and will kick off their season on Sunday 16 August 2015 when they entertain Charlton Athletic at the Frost Financial Stadium. Other teams visiting the stadium during the season include Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United, Queen's Park Rangers and Cardiff City.
