Lowestoft Town 1
M. Halliday (33)
Canvey Island 1
R. King (18)

For the second year running, Canvey Island came away from The Crown Meadow with a 1-1 draw against league leaders Lowestoft Town. Rob King had given Canvey the lead in the 18th minute, meeting Matt Game's free kick at the back post before looping a header over the goalkeeper. However, Matt Halliday equalised for The Trawlerboys on 33 minutes in similar circumstances, heading home a free kick when he was given too much space by the Canvey defence.

Lowestoft keeper Andy Reynolds came off injured on 60 minutes, forcing striker Michael Frew to go in goal for the final half hour. He wrote himself into club folklore 3 minutes later when substitute Jason Hallett was fouled in the area by fellow-sub Dale Cockerill, with the latter being dismissed for denying the obvious goal scoring opportunity. The normally clinical Rob King stepped up, but his penalty was weak and Frew saved the spot kick to keep his side level.
