The Dons, who had former-Chelsea defender Frank Sinclair and ex-Ipswich Town midfielder Darren Currie in their starting lineup, were the better side on the day and were rarely tested by a lacklustre Gulls side.
After a poor first half, a trio of substitutions did liven things up in the second half, but unfortunately Canvey did not seriously test Hendon keeper Sean Thomas and subsequently left empty handed.
