Canvey Island Football Club are on the lookout for volunteers to join the club in a number of positions, in order to help improve the day to day operation of the club.
At this level of football, volunteers are the essential heartbeat of keeping the day to day management of the club to standard. As a volunteer, you’ll be able work with a welcoming and approachable team at the club, and will be part of the setup needed to take the club forward.
We currently have the following positions available:
Kit Manager
We are on the lookout for a Kit Manager. This individual would be tasked with the cleaning and maintenance of the first team’s kit and would report directly to the Club Secretary.
Requirements:
- Access to own transport.
- Flexibility for potential midweek / rearranged games.
Merchandise Stall Operators
We are on the lookout for volunteer vendors to help run our matchday merchandise stall, possibly on rotation should more than one operator is available. The successful individual would be tasked with working with the club secretary to manage stock, keeping the stall in neat presentation and handling purchases made by supporters on matchdays.
This role is open to individuals 18+ and could see the potential to move into managing online sales should the infrastructure become available.
Requirements:
- Flexibility for potential midweek / rearranged games.
- Previous experience with handling financial transactions preferred.

Media Team
We are looking to add another member to our matchday media team. This would suit an individual with an interest in football journalism or social media profiling. The right candidate would be responsible with helping assist with the follow;
- Assisting with content for our matchday programme.
- Assisting with the operation and upkeep of the club website.
- Playing music pre-match and at half time.
- Assisting with our social media pages.

Matchday Stewards
We are on the lookout for Matchday Stewards to join our current team.
As a Matchday Steward, the right individual would be tasked with helping keep the matchday crowd safe and orderly during the match. Working as part of a team, they would assist supporters, players and officials where necessary and would act as part of the ‘face of the club’.
