Canvey Island play their penultimate pre season match on Tuesday evening, as they host Isthmian League North side Tilbury at the Steves Taxi's Stadium.

Our Opponents
The Dockers come into this game ahead of their return to Isthmian League football, following on from last seasons title winning campaign in the Essex Senior League.

Their fall back into Step 5 of the Non League game as a suprise to many however, with the club more often a name associated with chasing promotion in recent years. With an ambitious stadium move in the works, it was tasked to manager Marc Harrison to take the club back up.

With much of their Isthmian North squad retained though, they managed their goal at the first time of asking, with the club winning promotion in their final home game to see them return to Step 4. They've spent the summer strengthening their hand, with impressive signings such as Lewis Manor joining from Isthmian Premier champions Hornchurch and Jamie Reynolds joining from another Isthmian Premier side in Cheshunt.

The Gulls met the Dockers competitively back in 2021, where a brace from Conor Hubble and goals from Evans Kouassi, Jamie Salmon and Matt Price gave the Gulls a 5-1 win at home just after Christmas.

The Gulls
Canvey meanwhile, were held to a draw away from home on Saturday at another Isthmian North side, Heybridge Swifts.

Canvey's goal was scored by a trialist, and they were made to work for it in a match made difficult by an organised home team.

The result gives Brad Wellmen plenty of food for thought though as he looks to finalise his side heading into the final week of pre season.
