Canvey Island continued their pre season preparations on Saturday as they recorded a 1-1 draw at Isthmian League North side Heybridge Swifts.

The first half saw no goals scored, though the hosts were reduced to 10 men.

The match heated up in the second half, with a goal for each side. Ben Allen grabbed a goal for Heybridge, whilst Canvey’s goal was scored by a trialist.

The Gulls now turn to Tuesday evening and another match up with an Isthmian North side in recently promoted Tilbury.
