Canvey Island will look to book their place in the final of the BBC Essex Senior Cup on Tuesday evening, as they host National League South side Chelmsford City at the Steves Taxis Stadium.

Our Opponents
The Clarets compete in the Vanarama National League South, one division above ours, and are currently in the hunt for a playoff spot - something they've achieved over the last two seasons.

They come into this game on the back of a 3-1 win away at Salisbury over the weekend. The Clarets are 8 times Essex Senior Cup champions, entering the competition this year in the 3rd Round, an earned their place here with a 3-1 win away at Isthmian North side Waltham Abbey.

Outgoing manager Robbie Simpson will look to add silverware and a playoff place to the clubs records before he departs, and he has a talented squad at his disposal to do just that. The likes of Archie Tamplin, Arthur Penny and Jacob Bland have made the step from Isthmian Premier football, talented midfielders like Charlie Ruff and Kalvin Kalala aren't shy of attacking intent, and they also possess a former Gulls favourite in the shape of Ryan Blackman, with the midfielder becoming a bit of a cult here back in the 16/17 season.

Despite having played many recent friendlies, this is the first competitive meeting between the two sides since 2004. They met in the Essex Thamesside Trophy second round, where on the road, the Gulls were subject to a 2-1 defeat.

The Gulls
Canvey meanwhile, will be looking for a shot at redemption on Tuesday evening, following a 4-0 humbling at home to Bognor Regis Town in the Isthmian League Premier.

It was a devastating result for the Gulls in their fight to beat the drop. Results around them kept them 5 points off the bottom four, but they'll see it as a huge opportunity missed to expand that gap.

The Gulls reached this stage of the competition after a penalty shootout win over Isthmian North side Brightlingsea Regent in the Quarter Finals, with the score level at 1-1 after 90 minutes. They've also defeated Buckhurst Hill and Dagenham & Redbridge to get to this round.

They'll be looking to make their first final since Senior Cup final since 2012 - where they defeated Colchester United 1-0 at Thurrock FC's Ship Lane.

Yellow Army, thank you for those who stuck by the side to the end on Saturday. The result wasn't good enough, and the squad will looking to put things right so that fans will have something to celebrate this season.

Parking
Parking at the Steves Taxi's Stadium is free to all but limited to first come / first serve. Additional parking can be found on the adjacent side roads, but please be mindful of our neighbours if using this option. Parking on Park Lane itself is also strongly advised against.
