The Opposition
Kingstonian endured a difficult 22/23 campaign, with the club languishing around the bottom on the Isthmian Premier table for much of the season.
However, under the stewardship of new manager Simon Lane, the K's were able to steer themselves to safety, finishing the season six points above the relegation zone and securing their top flight Isthmian status for another season. The summer has allowed them to rebuild their squad more to Lane's style of play, bringing in more experienced heads such as Eddie Dsane alongside a cast of more talented, up and coming players.
Their start to the season has been a difficult one however, taking on two of the promotion favourites in Billericay Town and Lewes respectively, losing 1-0 and 3-1 to both, though not without showing some promise in their play.
Our last meeting against the K's came back in early April, as a hatrick from Evans Kouassi and a goal sandwiched between from Elliott Johnson, saw us run out 4-1 winners at Imperial Fields.
The Gulls
The Gulls meanwhile, saw a difficult midweek trip to Dulwich Hamlet end in a 4-1 defeat, with the Gulls forced to play the second half with just 10 men after Lordon Akolbire's dismissal for a second yellow card. Joe Paxman grabbed the consolation goal for Canvey.
Akolbire's dismissal means he'll likely be missing for the trip to South London, though the Gulls will be pleased to have Charlie Edwards back after injury, the midfielder playing the last 20 minutes of Tuesday evening's game. Kwesi Ntim also returns to his former side for the first time after joining the Gulls in the summer.

Despite Tuesday's unfortunate result, the support the Yellow Army gave in the stands was class as always, making themselves well heard amongst a boisterous home crowd of over 1500.
We'll need that same energy on Saturday as we look to bounce back in style.
We wish all fans travelling a safe and easy journey to South London.
