Our Opponents
The Ambers have endured a difficult beginning to their return to Isthmian League football, following their relegation from the National League South last season.
They currently sit in 19th place, inside the relegation zone, though level on points with 18th place Potters Bar Town, albeit with a worse goal difference. Their last outing saw them succumb to a heavy defeat at home to runaway leaders Hornchurch, the visitors hitting them for 6 last Saturday.
Manager Craig Edwards has had the unenviable job of having to rebuild much of his squad from scratch following several high profile departures in the summer. They still maintain the talent to give any side in the league problems however, with players like the ever present Taylor Mckenzie marshaling at the back, and 40 goal striker Nnamdi Nwachuku - who helped AFC Sudbury to promotion in the Isthmian League North last season.
Our last competitive meeting with the Ambers came back in August of 2018, where a Jason Hallett goal condemned Canvey to a 1-0 defeat away from home in the FA Cup Preliminary Round.
The Gulls
Canvey meanwhile, will also be looking to bounce back from defeat at the weekend as they suffered a 3-0 defeat in away at Enfield Town.
Jack Munns was given his full debut for the club, but there was little else to smile about for the Gulls as they were resoundingly beaten, their recent lack of competitive action showing compared to a well drilled opponent.
They were denied the opportunity to get back into action on Tuesday night, with bad weather meaning our match against Lewes was postponed. It will have allowed them a weeks preparation for this game however, as they seek another big three points at home.
