Canvey Island look to make in three wins on the spin in all competition on Tuesday evening, as they host Chatham Town at the Moviestarr Stadium.
Our Opponents
The Chats have enjoyed a stellar start to life at Step 3 of the non league pyramid, taking the league by storm, as their title winning form from last season in the Isthmian League South East seems to have translated well into the Premier, with the club currently sitting 2nd in the league at the time of writing.
Whilst they haven't fared best in the cups, it is their league form that has been the true indication of their metal this season, with 10 wins and goals aplenty across the park in a talented squad. They further emphasised this at the weekend as they pinched second spot from fellow playoff chasers Enfield Town, defeating them 3-1 at the Bauvil Stadium in front of an impressive crowd of over 1100.
Manager Kevin Hake has kept the core of the side that won him the title last year, with players like Reece Butler and the experienced Danny Kedwell ever present in their lineup, whilst adding exciting talent to their ranks, with talisman Jamie Yila the standout, and a familiar face in Ashley Nzala - the forward turning out for the Gulls last season.
This will be a first ever competitive meeting between the two sides, so the form book is wide open as to who will strike first!
The Gulls
Canvey meanwhile, will be looking for their 3rd win in a row in all competitions as they continue their busy run of fixtures in the lead up to the festive period.
They claimed a big scalp on Saturday, as they beat high flying Hastings United 2-0 away from home, with Jamie Salmon and Elliot Ronto both heading home before half time to help claim the Gulls three points on the road.
With this being the fourth of seven games in 3 weeks, they'll be looking to cash in on as many points as they can to keep up with the teams above them as the season races toward the halfway mark.
***
Yellow Army, it was a pleasure to see many of you following the Gulld away from home on Saturday. We know as it approaches Christmas, the calendar gets busy and the wallet / purse gets lighter for all - so your support is greatly appreciated at this time of year.
We hope to see another strong home crowd pack the Moviestarr Stadium on Tuesday evening and back Brad Wellmen and his side to another victory!
Come on you Gulls!
