Canvey Island will be on the hunt for their first home league win of the season on Tuesday evening, as they host Carshalton Athletic in the Isthmian League Premier.

Our Opponents

The Robins are another staple name in the Isthmian Premier, with the club returning to Step 3 after winning promotion from the Isthmian South back in the 17/18 season. Since then, they've been among the playoff chasers in the division, though have fallen short of their overall aims in recent years. Under the stewardship of popular manager Peter Adeniyi though, they have the squad to achieve their aims in the division.

They come into this match in 12th place at the time of writing, though a tight early season table means they are just 3 points ahead of the Gulls. They are on a steady run of form, with the team unbeaten in the league since late August, but without a win since the start of the month - in which time they've also exited both the FA Trophy and FA Cup, though the later only to National League South side Boreham Wood in the 4th Qualifying Round.

Their last league result was a 2-2 draw at home to Hendon on Saturday, in which they rescued a point with a dramatic 98th minute equaliser. Adeniyi's squad contains plenty of character, with the likes of Dominic Vose and Darnell Goather-Braithwaite recognisable Isthmian names in recent years, and the goals of long serving Tommy Bradford have been key to recent results.

The two sides met twice in the league last season, with Canvey 3-0 winners on a Monday night in South London, thanks to a Sam Mvemba brace and a third from Tobi Tinubu, before the two sides played out a goalless draw at Park Lane later in the campaign.

The Gulls
Canvey meanwhile, are still waiting on their first home league win of the season, after falling short against Folkestone Invicta in a 1-0 loss on Saturday.

In a close fought game, an unfortunate own goal was the deciding factor, meaning the visitors took the points and condemned Canvey to only their 2nd loss in 6 games. They'll be looking to make amends on Tuesday evening, and get the monkey off their back to pick up their first 3 points at home this season.
