Canvey Island will be looking to make it three wins on the spin this Saturday, as they travel to South London to face Carshalton Athletic in the Isthmian League Premier.

The Robins are enjoying another good season in the Isthmian Premier, firmly rooted in 8th place at the time of writing, in upper mid-table, though 11 points short of any playoff goals they may have previously set themselves. Despite this, they've proven a challenging customer for most sides in the league this season, particularly at home, where they've lost just two of their last 10 matches.

Their overall form of late has been good too, unbeaten in 5 and on a four game winning streak after they recorded an impressive 3-1 win away at promotion chasing Dover Athletic last Saturday.

Manager Peter Adeniyi has become like part of the furniture at the War Memorial Sports Ground, embedded in the clubs ethos and aims, and he has a squad assembled to take them further. Experienced heads like Darnell Goather-Braithwaite and Fabio Saraiva has plenty of Isthmian experience, while they can balance that with exciting younger talents like Oluwafikayo Atewologun and Shaon Ifeanyi. Up front, they have plenty of goals in the form of experienced striker David Smith - with his tally at 12 for the season as things stand.

The Gulls have already met the Robins once this season, recording a narrow 1-0 win at the Steves Taxis Stadium thanks to a goal from Jamie Salmon.

Canvey meanwhile, will be hoping to put more distance between themselves and the drop zone, after recording back to back wins on Tuesday evening, as they defeated Bowers & Pitsea 2-0 at the Steves Taxis Stadium.

First half goals from Chris Harris and Jimmy Wallace were enough to see the Gulls take the points and the local bragging rights, putting a 6 point buffer between themselves and the bottom four.

They'll be confident of making it three from three going into this fixture, with their recent record against the Robins a good one - three wins and two draws since promotion back to Step 3 in 2022.
