The Gulls this Saturday host Dover Athletic at the Steves Taxis Stadium. We still need to secure points to ensure continuing in the Isthmian Premier Division next season and this will be a tough task.
Our Opponents
Dover after a flying start to the Season have more recently had a few setbacks in their quest for promotion and currently sit 5th in the table. They are currently 19th in the Division form guide taking 4 points rom their last 6 games, They enter this match on a run of three defeats including two home defeats to Carshalton Athletic and Whitehawk.
In the corresponding match at the Crabble back in November Canvey lost a tight game 3-2 despite twice leading through goals from Elliot Ronto. At the time Dover were on an unbeaten run through November which earned Jake Leberl Manager of the Month for that month.
The Gulls
Canvey come into this game having faired mixed fortunes over the last month. In the League we have suffered 2 consecutive 4-0 defeats. In between we had a great night under the lights winning a BBC Essex Senior Cup Semi-Final 3-2 on penalties against higher ranked Chelmsford City. Bobby Mason again the spot kick king saving 3 from 5 spot kicks.
Currently the squad is suffering from a number of injures especially in defensive positions. Hopefully we may have players back on the pitch soon. They have started light training lets hope we have no more setbacks.
Lets get behind the team again as we move into the last quarter of the season.
