Saturday Canvey Island have what could turn out to be our most important game of the Season at home to Hastings United. Really is a true 6 pointer with both sides involved in a relegation fight to the finish. Realistically this is a must win game for the U's as any other result will not be good enough.

Our Opponents
Hastings have had a traumatic season with 3 previous managers trying to bring success to club and failed. Only recently with their last change the Club Chairman has taken on the managers role until the end of the season. The U's gave themselves a lifeline last weekend with a 2:0 win away against already relegated Bowers & Pitsea. However their poor goal difference is probably worth a point to those teams in the fight directly above them.

The Gulls
Since winning the BBC Essex Senior Cup final the Gulls form has been patchy with two battling 1:1 draws against relegation fighting teams and two 1:0 defeats against teams higher up the league table. A win on Saturday in our return match with Hastings is so important with Hendon facing a tough trip to Dover and Dulwich Hamlet also facing a tricky visit to Bognor Regis Town. With injuries and suspensions the Gulls will need all their squad to perform at their best for the remainder of the season.
